The current analysis evaluates the actual water resources management develope in Corrientes Province and it makes proposals aiming to strengthen the provincial water resources management. In order to comply with the proposed objectives, a specific methodology was designed and implemented. This methodology was supported in the search, analysis and compilation of information on currently existing management models in countries and provincial governments supplemented by interviews with officials from national and international departments. The research focused on IHRM principles added to the diagnosis of Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats (SWOT), held on the Instituto Correntino del Agua y del Ambiente (ICAA) as authority for water resources management at provincial level. The substantial documentation analyzed is presented as Annexes and several synthesis tables, and constitutes the sustenance of the outlined proposals which are ordered by subject, technical and institutional axes; depending on the countries and States concerned. Finally, as conclusions, is noted a set of ideas that suggests that, by the virtue of the inescapable interconnection between surface and groundwater resources recognized and emphasized its importance as conclusion of first order, a better term for this contribution, prepared for the degree of MA in Integrated Water Resources Management, of the National University of Litoral, should have been “Proposal for Integrated Water Resources management for the Province of Corrientes”.Palabras clave – provistas por el repositorio digital
