SOSC Testing
Sayed Y. Hashimi; Scott J. Steffan
In this chapter, we reviewed the three phases of software testing: unit, integration, and system tests. Next, we discussed some of the difficulties associated with selecting test data in a “smart” environment. Then we detailed the challenges of testing an SOSC’s mechanisms for communication, state maintenance, and concurrency, as well as smart agent functionality. Finally, we presented how to construct a smart test component to check the SOSC and the smart agent during runtime, and alert the user of any critical situations.
In this book, we’ve covered what smart clients are, how they can be constructed, the ease in which they can be deployed, their ability to interoperate with a XML Web Services, and how they can be tested. You’re now ready to develop your own smart clients. We are sure your customers will be extremely pleased with your SOSCs, just as our clients were very satisfied with the ones we developed.
