Resumen/Descripción – provisto por el repositorio digital
The classical flow and transport equations in porous media assume local equilibrium in a representative elementary volume. However, in reality, a non-equilibrium behaviour is frequently observed, manifested as a delayed yield from storage, with water transferred from less conductive areas to more conductive ones. In this study the applicability of an equivalent mathematical model of flow in saturated media was numerically evaluated, representing the nonequilibrium by an additional term of Multiple Rate Mass Transfer (MRMT). As hypothesis it was assumed that the effect of delayed drainage in the response of an aquifer is due only to the influence of the heterogeneous transmissivity field. The methodology consisted in generating heterogeneous transmissivity fields from geostatistical models, over which were carried out numerical simulations of pumping tests solving the classical equation in transient flow regime. Resulting drawdowns were considered "observed" response. Then it was solved the equivalent flow equation through a code written in Fortran 90. The mobile zone transmissivity, the first order mass transfer rate coefficient and mobile / inmobile zones storage coefficients were the calibration parameters for the purpose of capturing the "observed" non-equilibrium. Preliminary adjustments of the equivalent model show that the non-equilibrium formulation could be a good alternative to represent delayed drainage associated to spatial heterogeneity.
