Resumen/Descripción – provisto por el repositorio digital
It was studied the effect of Ga2O3 (gallia) as promoter, of ZrO2 (zirconia) as support and of the Cu-Ga2O3 and Cu-ZrO2 interactions, in the catalytic performance of supported copper catalysts in the reaction of methanol synthesis, from mixtures rich in carbon dioxide, to their use in `capture modules of CO2´ with recycle of non- condensable. It was found that from the set of binary and ternary catalysts evaluated, the most active, selective and stable catalysts were those in which the gallia was added onto the precursor Cu/ZrO2 dried and calcined, has been incorporated the metal by ion exchange (Ga2O3/IE Cu/ZrO2). Also, it was found that catalysts with Ga2O3 in their compositions, either as promoter or support, were the most stable. The characterization of the most representative catalysts, as to the observed catalytic differences, showed that the catalytic stability of the catalysts with Ga2O3 was associated with the presence of appreciable percentage of Cu+ versus Cu0 over the H2 pre-reduced catalysts as found by the reactive chemisorption of CO followed by in-situ infrared spectroscopy (IR). The initial activities to methanol together with the results of surface concentration of copper and the percentage of Cu0 (estimated from the copper dispersion measures with N2O and the adsorption of CO with IR, respectively) allowed to postulate that it is necessary to reach a given assembly of Cu0 surface atoms to form the catalytically active site in the methanol synthesis.
