Mechanisms of Ageing and Development is a multidisciplinary journal aimed at revealing the molecular, biochemical and biological mechanisms that underlie the processes of aging and development in various species as well as of age-associated diseases. Emphasis is placed on investigations that delineate the contribution of (1) macromolecular damage and cytotoxicity; (2) genetic instability including telomeres integrity; (3) genetic programs; (4) mitochondrial function; (5) alterations of metabolism; (6) innovative anti-aging approachesNot of interest are (1) studies on age changes that are purely descriptive and which do not address the underlying mechanisms; (2) psychological or social case studies and reports. Manuscripts in basic research areas relevant to the aims and scope are welcomed.
