Transversal: Journal for Jewish Studies

Jewish Studies is an inherently interdisciplinary field. In this context, it is often stressed that the experiences of the Jews, e.g. in the areas of migration or multiple identities, can be considered paradigmatic also to the non-Jewish world. As a new journal in the field, “transversal” aspires to transcend disciplinary and methodological boundaries and to strengthen Jewish Studies as a central discipline in the humanities. While “transversal” invites contributions from a broad range of topics, it remains committed to the methods and approaches of cultural studies focusing on the exchange between Jewish and non-Jewish spheres of culture and its mutually constitutive effects. The new open access journal also offers an online forum for socially relevant and controversial topics relating to Jewish history and the presence of Jewish culture. In addition, scholars are welcome to comment on articles published in transversal and to open new conversations on timely subjects.Palabras clave – provistas por la editorial
