Different factors which have influence on the semi-hydrogenation of 1-heptyne to 1-heptene were evaluated in the present thesis. Mono and bimetallic catalysts by incipient wetness and successive impregnation techniques were prepared. Pd, Ni and Ru, were supported on alumina (gamma-Al2O3) and activated carbons (GF-45 y CNR-115) for prepared monometallic catalysts. Bimetallic catalysts of Pd-W/Alumina and Pd-Ni/Alumina, were also prepared. For characterization hydrogen chemisorption, TPR and XPS techniques were used. The principal results obtained are: - The milder conditions were TREACTION 303 K at PH2: 150 kPa, at which high activity and selectivity values were obtained. - The support is important due to porosity differences, superficial functional groups or adsorption capacity, which affect the catalytic performance. - Calcination influence on electron-defficient species and superficial chloride content; higher activity and selectivity were obtained when the catalysts were calcinated. - The reduction treatments (TRED) also modify the superficial metallic species, producing changes on catalytic performance. - In Pd-W/Al2O3, the W modify the Pd electronic state decreasing the selectivity and increasing the total conversion, when TRED is raised the selectivity drop and the total conversion is slightly affected. - The Pd-Ni/Al2O3 bimetallics presented excellent selectivities, the Ni addition raised the total conversion (respect to monometallic) due to the modification of the Pd electronic state. - The Lindlar classic catalyst presented high selectivity and moderated conversion. - The catalysts were prepared in this Thesis were able to overcome the selectivities values of reference catalyst
