Resumen/Descripción – provisto por la editorial en inglés
The mission of the American Journal of Physics (AJP) is to publish articles on the educational and cultural aspects of physics that are useful, interesting, and accessible to a diverse audience of physics students, educators, and researchers who are generally reading outside their specialties to broaden their understanding of physics and to expand and enhance their pedagogical toolkits at the undergraduate and graduate levels.Palabras clave – provistas por la editorial

Correlation of quantum properties and the generalized Heisenberg inequality
Jean-Marc Lévy-Leblond
Attention is drawn to the significance and interest of the covariance and correlation coefficient for two physical properties of a quantum system. The generalized Heisenberg inequality between two such properties, in terms of their commutator and anticommutator, is interpreted as setting an upper bound, of quantum nature, on their correlation coefficient.

Spontaneous magnetization of ferromagnets
Yaakov Kraftmakher
Computer-controlled experiments are described for observing hysteresis loops of a ferromagnet over a wide temperature range, including its Curie point, and for determining the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization. A nickel-based alloy, Monel 400, is used as the sample.
