SAMSON: Smart Address Management in Self-Organizing Networks

Kristóf Fodor; Dániel Krupp; Gergely Biczók; János L. Gerevich; Krisztián Sugár

In this paper we present the SAMSON (Smart Address Management in Self-Organizing Networks) protocol, which is a simple and effective solution for assigning unique addresses to nodes of a MANET. Our protocol reduces the configuration time of arriving nodes by optimizing the number of configuration messages and the number of hops the configuration messages have to pass through. Furthermore, SAMSON handles the merger and partitioning of networks efficiently.
